Paul Gallen (born 14 August 1981) is an Australian professional boxer and former professional rugby league footballer who played as a and forward and captained the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL to their maiden NRL Premiership in 2016. He is a former captain and representative of the New South Wales State of Origin team. He has also been the vice captain of Australia and played his whole NRL career with the Sharks, with whom he won the 2016 NRL Premiership. He was the NRL's oldest player playing in 2018. He shares the Australian first grade record for most seasons played in the NRL with Cameron Smith at 19 seasons. Kevin Andrew Gallen (born 21 September 1975) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. He notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers over several seasons, and would have two spells with the Loftus Road club. He also played in the Football League for Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Plymouth Argyle, Milton Keynes Dons, Luton Town and Barnet, before finishing his career in Non-league with Braintree Town, Leverstock Green and Aylesbury United. Herbert Gallen (September 15, 1915 — September 22, 2007) was an American businessperson. He was chairman and owner of Ellen Tracy, Inc., a manufacturer of women's business clothing, for over 50 years until 2003 when the company was sold to Liz Claiborne, Inc. for $180 million. Gallen's Career Gallen grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of a fabric manufacturer and grandson of a silk mill owner. After graduating from high school, he went to work for an uncle who owned several auto supply stores. Gallen ran his own store before serving in the army, where he was still involved in the auto parts business during World War II. Because of wartime restrictions, fabric became difficult to acquire and he recognized a chance to take advantage of connections to move into the apparel industry. Hugh Gallen
Hugh J. Gallen (July 30, 1924 – December 29, 1982) was an American automobile dealer and Democratic politician from Littleton, New Hampshire. After serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, he served as the 74th governor of New Hampshire from 1979 until his death in 1982. Gallen was born in Portland, Oregon. Gallen served as governor from 1979 until his death. Although twice elected for two-year terms as governor he was defeated in his bid for a third term in 1982. Gallen (barony)
The Barony of Gallen is one of the nine baronies in County Mayo, Ireland. It is situated in the eastern part of the county south of the town of Ballina, County Mayo, Ballina, bordering County Sligo. It incorporates the area between Foxford (north and west), Ballyvary (southwest), Swinford (south) and Bonniconlon (east). The descendants of Cormac Gaileng, great grandson of Olioll Olum were called Gailenga, the race of Gaileng, and they gave their name to the barony of Gallen in Mayo.
