Dhaka Courier
The ''Dhaka Courier'' (commonly known as ''the Courier'') is a Bangladeshi English-language news magazine. Founded in 1984, it is the longest running English current affairs magazine in the country. Its content is largely focused on politics, international affairs, economics, travel, literature, society and the arts. The publication is owned by the Cosmos Group of businessman Enayetullah Khan, and is a sister concern of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), one of the country's leading news agencies. Enayetullah Khan is the founding editor. The current executive editor of the magazine is Shayan S Khan. Enayetullah Khan
Enayetullah Khan (born 1953) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, author, journalist and patron of the arts. He is best known as the founder and managing director of the Cosmos Group, a Bangladeshi conglomerate incorporating over a dozen companies operating at home and abroad. He is the founder of ''Dhaka Courier'' and United News of Bangladesh. Early life Khan was born in 1953 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is son of M Masud Khan and Shamsun Nahar Khan. His grandfather Amanat Khan was a prominent member of Chittagong society. Education After completing his master's degree in mass communication and journalism (MCJ) from the University of Dhaka in 1975, Khan taught briefly at the MCJ department before leaving to start his career as a media entrepreneur. Indrajit Banerjee
Indrajit Banerjee (10 November 1964 – 25 January 2019) was an author on media and communication and the director of the Knowledge Societies Division at UNESCO. He obtained a PhD with distinction from Sorbonne University Paris in communication and didactics in 1994. He served as the secretary-general of the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) in Singapore, from 2004 to 2009. Education and career Indrajit Banerjee was born and brought up in Pondicherry, India. His early schooling was completed at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education, where he left with a BA in Arts and Sciences in 1985. He moved to New Delhi, attending Jawaharlal Nehru University where, in 1988, he left with a MA in French. United News of Bangladesh (UNB) is a Bangladesh private sector news agency established in 1988. Enayetullah Khan established UNB in the 1980s. It is the first fully digitized private wire service in South Asia. UNB has news exchange agreements with other major news agencies and networks, such as Associated Press, UNI, Xinhua, Kyodo, ANSA, Suomen Tietotoimisto and Rompress. Syed Badrul Ahsan is a Bangladeshi journalist and author who currently serves as Editor-in-Charge of ''The Asian Age'', a publication based in Dhaka.
