Daniel Patrick Pugh (born 1957), known professionally as Dan Patrick, is an American sportscaster, radio personality, and actor. He hosts ''The Dan Patrick Show'' broadcast on radio on Premiere Radio Networks and streaming on Peacock. He co-hosted NBC's ''Football Night in America'' and serves as a senior writer for ''Sports Illustrated''. Dan Goeb Patrick (born Dannie Scott Goeb; April 4, 1950) is an American radio talk show host, television broadcaster, and politician. He has been serving as the 42nd lieutenant governor of Texas since January 2015, under Greg Abbott. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Patrick began his career as a radio and television broadcaster. After forming a chain of sports bars and subsequently going bankrupt, he became a radio host again, this time becoming a conservative commentator. From 2007 to 2015, Patrick was a Republican member of the Texas Senate for the 7th District, which included a small portion of the city of Houston and several Houston-area suburbs located mostly in northwest Harris County. He began his career in writing for television and in 2000 directed his first feature film, ''Malicious Intent'', which became a cult film. He followed up with the acclaimed comedy gangster film ''Moussaka & Chips'' in 2006 and ''The Best Years'' in 2012. Then followed a brief hiatus before ''Requiem for a Fighter'' in 2018 and ''The Maltese Connection'' in 2021. Danny Lee Patrick (July 8, 1941 – July 26, 2009) was an educator and farmer from rural Delaney in Madison County, Arkansas, who served from 1967 to 1970 as a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for Madison and neighboring Carroll counties in the northwestern corner of his state. His legislative service coincided exactly with the administration of Winthrop Rockefeller, Arkansas' first GOP governor since Reconstruction. Like Rockefeller, Patrick was unseated in his bid for a third term in the general election held on November 3, 1970. The Democrats, led by gubernatorial nominee and, later, U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers, wiped out the gains that Republicans had temporarily achieved during the Rockefeller years. She is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel car racing—her victory in the 2008 Indy Japan 300 is the only win by a woman in an IndyCar Series race. Born to a working-class family in Beloit, Wisconsin, Patrick began karting at the age of ten and achieved early success by winning her class in the World Karting Association Grand National Championship three times in the mid-1990s. She dropped out of high school with her parents' permission in 1998, and moved to the United Kingdom to further her career. Patrick competed in Formula Vauxhall and Formula Ford before returning to the United States in 2001 due to a lack of funding.
