Stress, either physiological, biological or psychological, is an organism's response to a stressor such as an environmental condition. Stress is the body's method of reacting to a condition such as a threat, challenge or physical and psychological barrier. There are two hormones that an individual produces during a stressful situation, these are well known as adrenaline and cortisol. There are two kinds of stress hormone levels. Resting (basal) cortisol levels are normal everyday quantities that are essential for standard functioning. Reactive cortisol levels are increases in cortisol in response to stressors. Stimuli that alter an organism's environment are responded to by multiple systems in the body. In humans and most mammals, the autonomic nervous system and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis are the two major systems that respond to stress. Norway was represented by Odd Børre, with the song "Stress", at the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 6 April in London. "Stress" originally finished second in the 1968 Melodi Grand Prix on 3 March, but was promoted to the Norwegian entry when the winning song "Jeg har aldri vært så glad i noen som deg" was withdrawn from the contest by its composer amid persistent allegations that it plagiarised the 1963 hit " Summer Holiday" by Cliff Richard – who was the United Kingdom's representative in the 1968 contest. Stress is a card game that uses a standard 52-card deck. It is usually only played with two people, although it is possible to play with more. The game requires each player to have a deck of numbered cards from 0 to 9. A player wins when they have lost all of their cards. It is similar to the game of Spit. Game rules Setup The deck is split into two equal piles, each player receiving one pile. Each player deals out a row of four cards in front of them, drawn from their pile. If any cards in this row share a rank, another card is dealt on top of them until no cards share ranks. The Stress
is the sixth single by Japanese singer/songwriter Chisato Moritaka. The lyrics were written by Moritaka and the music was composed by Hideo Saitō. The single was released by Warner Pioneer on February 25, 1989. The full title of the single is , a remix of "Stress" with Middle Eastern-style synthesizer arrangements. Background During a rehearsal in the middle of her first national tour in 1988, Moritaka suffered abdominal pain and had to be hospitalized for a week after being diagnosed with acute enteritis. Her doctor told her that the inflammation was caused by mental stress. As a result, the experience inspired her to write "The Stress". Music video The music video features Moritaka as a waitress having to deal with all kinds of customers at a ramen restaurant while visualizing her stress as a ghostly entity watching her.
