Aenne Burda (28 July 1909 – 3 November 2005), born Anna Magdalene Lemminger, was a German publisher of the Burda Group, a media group based in Offenburg and Munich, Germany. She was one of the symbols of the German economic miracle. Biography Aenne Burda was born in Offenburg, German Empire. She chose her name after the popular song ''Ännchen von Tharau''. She was the daughter of a Fireman of steam locomotives on the railways. She left convent high school at 17 and became a cashier at the Offenburg electricity company. In 1930 she met printer and publisher Franz Burda, son of Franz Burda, the founder of the Burda printing company. The couple married a year later, on 9 July 1931. Franz Burda (24 February 1903 – 30 September 1986) was a German publisher. He inherited his father's publishing business, which he developed into what is now the Hubert Burda Media conglomerate. Early life and family Burda was born in Philippsburg. He received his doctorate in 1927, at the University of Erlangen with an economic history of the development work of the Baden-products markets. Frieder Burda (29 April 1936 – 14 July 2019, in Baden-Baden) was a German art collector and Honorary Citizen of Baden-Baden. Life Born on 29 April 1936 in Gengenbach, Burda was the second son of publisher Franz Burda and his wife Aenne Burda (née Lemminger). Together with his older brother and his younger brother Hubert, Burda grew up in Offenburg. After finishing school in Offenburg, Triberg and Switzerland, he completed a print and a publishing qualification. Burda was trained in his father's business group. Later he lived in France and became a magazine publisher. He spent several years in England and the United States before becoming a printer in Darmstadt. Career In 1967 Burda placed 3rd in the all-around at the USSR Championships (also the USSR Spartakiade that year) as well as placing 2nd on balance beam and floor exercise. ''Qasīdat al-Burda'' ( ar, قصيدة البردة, "Ode of the Mantle"), or ''al-Burda'' for short, is a thirteenth-century ode of praise for the Islamic prophet Muhammad composed by the eminent Sufi mystic Imam al-Busiri of Egypt. The poem whose actual title is ''al-Kawākib ad-durriyya fī Madḥ Khayr al-Bariyya'' (, "The Celestial Lights in Praise of the Best of Creation"), is famous mainly in the Sunni Muslim world. It is entirely in praise of Muhammad, who is said to have been praised ceaselessly by the afflicted poet, to the point that Muhammad appeared in a dream and wrapped him in a mantle or cloak; in the morning the poet discovers that God has cured him.
