''The Daily Times'' is a morning daily English-language (broadsheet) publication based in Salisbury, Maryland, and primarily covers Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties, and regional coverage across the Delmarva Peninsula. It has been a Gannett publication since 2002. The online news product is Delmarva Now. History ''The Daily Times'' was first owned by the Truitt family of Salisbury, Maryland. It was sold to Brush-Moore Newspapers of Canton, Ohio, in 1937; 30 years later, Brush-Moore was sold to Thomson Newspapers of Toronto, Canada. Gannett bought the paper from Thomson in 2000. The paper began publication in 1886 as ''The Wicomico News'', a weekly. WONE is an AM radio station in Dayton, Ohio, operating on 980 kHz with a sports format. It carries programming from Fox Sports Radio, as well as '' The Dan Patrick Show'' ( Dan Patrick was originally an on-air personality on sister station WTUE under his real name, Dan Pugh). Its studios are located just outside downtown Dayton and its transmitter is in Kettering, Ohio. History The station took the air in 1949, licensed to Skyland Broadcasting Corp. WPAY (1400 AM) was an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Portsmouth, Ohio. The station was last owned by Douglas L. Braden and the final broadcast license was held by Radio Stations WPAY/WPFB, Inc. Established in 1925 in the village of Bellefontaine, Ohio, the station ultimately moved to Portsmouth in 1935. WPAY fell silent in June 2011 following the divestiture of sister station WPAY-FM and its license was revoked in June 2012. History Prior to being known as WPAY, the station's call letters were WHBD, and was previously licensed to Bellefontaine, later moving to Mt. Orab, and ultimately to Portsmouth. The ''Daily News'' is a daily-except-Saturday newspaper based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is published Sunday mornings and Monday through Friday evenings. History The current newspaper can trace its roots to the ''Bowling Green Democrat'' founded in 1854. A rival paper, ''The Daily Times'', was founded by John B. Gaines in 1882 and the newspapers eventually merged into the predecessor to the ''Park City Daily News''; now named the Daily News. The newspaper was still owned by members of the Gaines family until its sale in 2022. When the paper was called the ''Park City Daily News'', the name was chosen due to a nickname for Bowling Green taken from an 1892 speech by Henry Watterson.
