Boxing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Super Heavyweight
The men's super heavyweight boxing competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 1 to 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Sixteen boxers from different countries competed. Competition format The competition consisted of a single-elimination tournament. Bronze medals were awarded to both semifinal losers. Bouts were three rounds of three minutes each.Men's super heavyweight competition format.

ExCeL London
ExCeL London (an abbreviation for Exhibition Centre London) is an exhibition centre, international convention centre and former hospital in the Custom House area of Newham, East London. Magomed Shakhbanovich Omarov (russian: Магомед Шахбанович Омаров, born 16 October 16, 1989) is a Russian Super Heavyweight amateur boxer best known to win the 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships. He also qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, held in London, where he reached the quarter-final but lost to Azeri World Champion Magomedrasul Majidov. Career Southpaw Omarov, as 19-year-old, grasped the gold medal at 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships, held in Ankara, Turkey, in June 2011 by upsetting 2008 Olympic Champion Roberto Cammarelle. Omarov was sent to the Olympics instead of world class local rival Sergei Kuzmin. He qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics at the European Qualifying Event, held in April 2012. Erislandy Savón
Erislandy Savón Cotilla (born July 21, 1990) is a Cuban heavyweight amateur boxer. He won the 91 kg/201 lbs title at the 2008 Youth World Amateur Boxing Championships, the 2009 Pan American Championships at Super Heavyweight and also the AIBA World Boxing Championships 2015 and 2017 in Heavyweight. Career Savón who hails from Guantánamo is a nephew of Félix Savón and also a big puncher. He won the Youth World Championships 2008. At the National Championships he lost the 91 kg/201 lbs semifinal 2008 to Osmay Acosta 3:6 and was disqualified in 2009. Johan (JT) Linde (born 27 June 1983 in Adelaide, South Australia) is an Australian amateur boxer of Estonian descent. He represented Australia at the 2012 London Olympic Games in the super heavyweight division and was Australian team captain at the 2013 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Anthony Victor James Yoka (born 28 April 1992) is a French professional boxer who has held the European heavyweight title since 2021. As an amateur he represented France at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 Olympics, winning gold medals in the super-heavyweight division. Simon Kean (born 11 January 1989) is a Canadian professional boxer. As an amateur he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics along with countryman Custio Clayton. Amateur career Kean was a semi-finalist and third-place finisher in the super-heavyweight division at the 2012 American Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament.
