Bishara, Bechara or Beshara (بشارة) is a common Arabic and Coptic name in the Middle East. It is most common in Egypt, Iraq and Syria. In Arabic, Bishāra means “Good News” an Arabic word which is the equivalent to Greek εὐαγγέλιον ''euangélion'', meaning “The Gospel”. As such, bearers of this surname are predominantly Christian. It is also a Swahili and Borana name, as it means "Happy tidings". The spelling "Bechara" is more common in South America and Southern Italy. Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi
Bechara Boutros al-Rahi (or Raï; syr, ܡܪܢ ܡܪܝ ܒܫܐܪܐ ܦܛܪܘܣ ܐܠܪܐܥܝ; ar, بشارة بطرس الراعي, Mor Bishārah Buṭrus al-Rāʿī; la, Béchara Petrus Raï) (born on 25 February 1940) is the 77th Maronite Patriarch of Antioch, and head of the Maronite Church, a position he has held since March 15, 2011, succeeding Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir. Béchara Abou Mrad, B.S.O., (19 May 1853 – 22 February 1930) was a Melkite priest and monk He is venerated by the Catholic Church especially in Melkite Greek Catholic Church, having been declared Venerable by Pope Benedict XVI. Souha Bechara
Souha Bechara (; born 15 June 1967) is a Lebanese former prisoner at the Khiam detention center. In 1988, she unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate Antoine Lahad, the then-leader of the Israel-backed South Lebanon Army (SLA); she was subsequently arrested and held at the SLA's notorious prison facility in Khiam for ten years. Early life Bechara was born in Deir Mimas, Lebanon, to an Eastern Orthodox Christian family. Her father, Fawaz, was a member of the Lebanese Communist Party, which Bechara herself also joined secretly in 1982. Bechara El Khoury
Bechara El Khoury ( ar, بشارة خليل الخوري; 10 August 1890 – 11 January 1964) was a Lebanese politician who served as the 1st president of Lebanon, holding office from 21 September 1943 to 18 September 1952, apart from an 11-day interruption (11–22 November) in 1943. He had previously served two short terms as Prime Minister, from 5 May 1927 to 10 August 1928, and 9 May to 11 October 1929. The Gospel
The gospel or good news is a theological concept in several religions. In the historical Roman imperial cult and today in Christianity, the gospel is a message about salvation by a divine figure, a savior, who has brought peace or other benefits to humankind. In Ancient Greek religion, the word designated a type of sacrifice or ritual dedication intended to thank the gods upon receiving good news. Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (; ar, سرحان بشارة سرحان ''Sirḥān Bišāra Sirḥān'', born March 19, 1944) is a Palestinian Jordanian man who was convicted for the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. Kennedy, a United States Senator and brother of John F. Kennedy, was shot by Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California, on June 5, 1968. Flavia Bechara is a Lebanese actress who has starred in the films '' The Kite'' and '' Adam's Wall''.
