The Associates (also just Associates) were a Scottish rock band, formed in Dundee in 1979 by singer Billy Mackenzie and guitarist Alan Rankine. The group first gained recognition after releasing an unauthorized cover of David Bowie's "Boys Keep Swinging" in 1979, which landed them a contract with Fiction Records. Made Man
In the American Mafia, a made man is a fully initiated member of the Mafia. To become "made", an associate first has to be sponsored by another made man. Other common names for members include "man of honor" (Italian: uomo d'onore), "one of us", "friend of ours", "good fella", and "wiseguy"; although the last two can also apply to non-initiated Mafia associates who work closely with the Mafia, rather than just official "made men"
