Ampang Line
The LRT Ampang Line and the LRT Sri Petaling Line are medium-capacity light rapid transit (LRT) lines in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. The combined network comprises 45.1 kilometres of tracks (28.0 miles) with 36 stations and was the first railway in Malaysia to use standard-gauge track and semi-automated trains. It is operated as part of the RapidKL system by Rapid Rail, a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia. A trip from one end to the other takes 41 minutes on the Ampang Line, and 74 minutes on the Sri Petaling Line. The Ampang Line is named after its eastern terminus, Ampang station, while the Sri Petaling Line is named after its former southern terminus, Sri Petaling station. Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd is the operator of the rapid transit (metro) system serving Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley area in Malaysia. A subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia, it is the sole operator of five rapid transit lines which collectively form the Rapid KL rapid transit system. Ampang LRT Station
Ampang LRT station is a light rapid transit station operated by rapidKL serving the Ampang Line in Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, just outside the eastern boundary of Kuala Lumpur. It is the eastern terminus for passenger services on the line. This station was opened in 1996, along with 17 other LRT stations. Features Ticketing machines and a CIMB Bank ATM were installed at the station concourse, as well as a convenience store. Ampang And Sri Petaling Lines Extension
The Ampang and Sri Petaling lines extension is an extension of the Sri Petaling line completed in 2016, extending 17.7 kilometres from Sri Petaling to Putra Heights, Malaysia. History Extensions to the LRT Kelana Jaya Line and Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines (formerly known as PUTRA and STAR LRT, respectively) were proposed by the Malaysian government in 2006. The proposal suggested extensions from Kelana Jaya and Sri Petaling to USJ and Puchong, respectively, converging at Putra Heights. Rapid KL (styled as ''rapidKL'') is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. With its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas, it was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and Kelana Jaya Line respectively.
