Aleksey Zhuravlyov (politician)
Aleksey Aleksandrovich Zhuravlyov (born 30 June 1962, Voronezh, RSFSR) is a Russian nationalist politician and member of the State Duma. Since September 29, 2016 he has been chairman of the Rodina political party. His views are often militarist, hawkish, and irredentist. Biography Zhuravlyov was born 30 June 1962 in Voronezh in Soviet Union. In 1984 he graduated from Voronezh Polytechnic Institute majoring in "Physics of Metals". In 2004 he graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. In 2001-2004 Zhuravlyov is an authorized representative of the Governor of the Voronezh Oblast Vladimir Kulakov in the Oblast Duma. In 2006–2007 he participated in the preparations for the creation of the party Great Russia led by Dmitry Rogozin. State Duma
The State Duma (russian: Госуда́рственная ду́ма, r=Gosudárstvennaja dúma), commonly abbreviated in Russian as Gosduma ( rus, Госду́ма), is the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, while the upper house is the Federation Council. The Duma headquarters are located in central Moscow, a few steps from Manege Square. Its members are referred to as deputies. The State Duma replaced the Supreme Soviet as a result of the new constitution introduced by Boris Yeltsin in the aftermath of the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, and approved in a nationwide referendum. In the 2007 and 2011 Russian legislative elections a full party-list proportional representation with 7% electoral threshold system was used, but this was subsequently repealed. The university was established in 1918 by professors evacuated from the University of Tartu in Estonia. Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov ce, КъадаргӀеран Ахьмат-кӏант Рамзан, translit= (born 5 October 1976) is a Russian politician who currently serves as the Head of the Chechen Republic. He was formerly affiliated to the Chechen Independence movement, through his father who was the separatist appointed mufti of Chechnya. He is a colonel general in the Russian military. Kadyrov is the son of former Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov, who switched sides in the Second Chechen War by offering his service to Vladimir Putin's administration in Russia and became Chechen president in 2003. 2011 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia on 4 December 2011. At stake were the 450 seats in the 6th State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (the legislature). United Russia won the elections with 49.32% of the vote, taking 238 seats or 52.88% of the Duma seats. This result was down from 64.30% of the vote and 70% of the seats in the 2007 elections. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation received 19.19% of the vote and 92 seats, while A Just Russia received 13.24% and 64 seats, with the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia getting 56 seats with 11.67% of the vote. Yabloko, Patriots of Russia and Right Cause did not cross the 7% election threshold. The list of parties represented in the parliament did not change. Dmitry Olegovich Rogozin (russian: link=no, Дми́трий Оле́гович Рого́зин; born 21 December 1963) is a Russian politician who served as director general of Roscosmos from 2018 to July 2022. Great Russia (russian: Великая Россия; romanized ''Velikaya Rossiya'') is an unregistered far-right nationalist political party in Russia. The party has been led by former Rodina deputy Andrei Saveliyev since its founding.
