Al Bidaoui
Al Bidaoui ( ar, البيضاوي) is a commuter rail system serving Casablanca in Morocco. It serves several train stations in Casablanca such as Casa-Voyageurs, Casa-Port and Mohammed V International Airport. History After the growth in the region of Casablanca, ONCF started constructing a railway line to go through the region and created the TNR line between Casablanca and the airport in 1993. Starting from 1 July 2002, the line has been improved and called Al Bidaoui. Naming The system was first called TNR Casablanca - Airport until 2002 when it was renamed Al Bidaoui which is an adjective in Arabic describing people and things from the region of Casablanca. Mohammedia ( ar, المحمدية, al-muḥammadiyya; ber, ⴼⴹⴰⵍⴰ, Fḍala), known until 1960 as Fedala, is a port city on the west coast of Morocco between Casablanca and Rabat in the region of Casablanca-Settat. It hosts the most important oil refinery of Morocco, the Samir refinery, which makes it the center of the Moroccan petroleum industry. It has a population of 208,612 according to the 2014 Moroccan census. History Early history The harbor, at what is now Mohammédia, was originally named Fédala (). This name comes from the Arabic words ''Fadl Allah'' () which means "favor of God". Traces still exist of its business role under the Almoravid dynasty. It was frequented in the 14th and 15th centuries by merchant ships from Europe seeking cereals and dried fruits. Train Navette Rapide
''Train Navette Rapide'' ("Fast Shuttle Train", more commonly known as the "TNR" or "Aouita") is a Moroccan rail service operated by the ONCF. Its first phase runs from Casablanca to Kénitra with a half-hourly service in each direction, between 6 a.m. and 9.30 p.m. The concept was based on existing Moroccan transport links. TNR Casablanca - Kenitra History On 21 May 1984, following the doubling of the Casablanca—Rabat line, the TNR made its first journey on the line from to . It was named the "Aouita". It connected the two cities with 14 trains a day in each direction, journeys taking under an hour. The TNR service was provided by eight EMUs, each with 271 seats and air conditioning. Spurred by its success, the ONCF added 32 centre-aisle coaches in 1992, and in 1995 added a second series of six air-conditioned EMUs. Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory infection caused by ''Middle East respiratory syndrome–related coronavirus'' (MERS-CoV). Symptoms may range from none, to mild, to severe. Typical symptoms include fever, cough, diarrhea, and shortness of breath. The disease is typically more severe in those with other health problems. The first case was identified in June 2012 by Egyptian physician Ali Mohamed Zaki at the Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and most cases have occurred in the Arabian Peninsula. Over 2,500 cases have been reported as of January 2021, including 45 cases in the year 2020. About 35% of those who are diagnosed with the disease die from it. Oasis Railway Station
Oasis or Casa-Oasis is a railway station in Casablanca. In the past few years it has handled an increased numbers of passengers. History The newly renovated station was officially opened on 4 January 2005 after major modernisation work by the ONCF, with a total MAD 13m investment. The renovations were made to relieve congestion at and stations. All southern inter-city train services to and from Casa-Voyageurs now call at Casa-Oasis.
