''73 Magazine'' (also known as ''73 Amateur Radio Today'') () was a United States-based amateur radio magazine that was published from 1960 to 2003. It was known for its strong emphasis on technical articles and for the lengthy editorials in each issue by its founder and publisher, Wayne Green. The magazine title, ''73'', (Morse: −−••• •••−− ) means "best regards" in amateur radio lingo. History The first issue of ''73'' was published in October 1960 from Green's business offices in Brooklyn, New York. A major contributing editor was Ken Sessions, K6MVH, who wrote a column called "The Chronicles of 76", a reference to the FM transmitting frequency of 146.76 megahertz. Sessions also authored many books on the subject of amateur radio, and designed many of the how-to projects included in the magazine. Another contributing editor was Jean Shepherd, K2ORS. The 73 is a bus route that operates between Bristol Temple Meads railway station and Cribbs Causeway. History The former 74 bus route was merged with the 73 from 1 September 2013. The frequency of the combined route was a bus every 10 minutes during weekdays, every 15 minutes on Saturdays, and every 30 minutes on evenings and Sundays. From 31 August 2014, the service frequency was reduced from 10 minutes to 12 minutes. From 4 September 2016, the peak service frequency was reduced from 12 minutes to 15 minutes and the route was extended to Temple Meads railway station. In anticipation of a predicted drop in passenger numbers due to the introduction of MetroBus route M1 in January 2019, the route saw its frequency reduced to every 20 minutes. In July 2020, three biomethane buses were introduced on the route.
