The 1st season of ''Taniec z gwiazdami'' aired in Poland on TVN in the spring of 2005, the 2nd season in the autumn of 2005, the 3rd season in the spring of 2006, the 4th season in the autumn of 2006, the 5th season in the spring of 2007, the 6th season in the autumn of 2007, the 7th season in the spring of 2008, the 8th season in autumn of 2008, the 9th season in the spring of 2009, the 10th edition in the autumn of 2009, the 11th season in the spring of 2010, the 12th season in the autumn of 2010, the 13th season in the autumn of 2011. The series never premiered a season in 2012 and 2013. After two years ''Dancing with the Stars'' return in Poland on POLSAT in spring of 2014 as the 14th season, the 15th season in autumn of 2014, the 16th season in spring of 2015, the 17th season in autumn of 2015, the 18th season in spring of 2016 and the 19th season in autumn of 2016, the 20th season in spring of 2017, the 21st season in spring of 2018, the 22nd season in spring of 2019, the 23rd season in autumn of 2019, the 24th season in spring and fall 2020, the 25th season in spring of 2021. Next new 26th season will be in autumn of 2022. Every Sunday, ratings average more than 7 million viewers for the first airing. The highest rated episode was the second-season finale, where over 8 million people watched. Since the beginning of the show there have been four different presenters. Magda Mołek, a well-known TV presenter, was the female host during the show's first season.

The judging panel is composed of Iwona Szymańska-Pavlović, retired professional dancer and currently a dancing judge, Michał Malitowski, professional dancer, Andrzej Piaseczny, singer and Andrzej Grabowski, an actor and comedian.

who each week compete against each other in a competition to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination. Through a telephone poll, viewers vote who should stay, the results of the poll being combined with the ranking of the panel of judges. Couple with lowest number points drop out from each episode. Each judge gives the performance a mark out of ten, giving an overall total out of forty (thirty in seasons 22-24).
