Kung Fu Dhamaka

''Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka'' is a 2019 Indian martial arts film written and directed by Rajiv Chilaka. The film is based on the characters Chhota Bheem and his friends. This is the 4th theatrical film of ''Chhota Bheem''. The film was distributed by Yash Raj Films and was released in Hindi and English in 2D and 3D version.

Plot

During a routine day in Dholakpur, Ming arrives and ask King Indravarma to allow Bheem and his friends to take part in the world's most prestigious martial arts event held by Emperor Jian in Dragonland, China. King Indravarma gives his permission, where Bheem and his friends agree and participates in Jian's martial arts competition, where the world's top fighters have also assembled there. Zuhu is an evil part-demon and Jian's nephew, who was banished from the kingdom as he tried to kill Jian's daughter Kia when she was chosen as the heir instead of Zuhu. During the competition, Zuhu arrives and kidnaps Kia as she is the patronage of a powerful mystical dragon and Zuha wants to absorb Kia's powers in order to rule the universe. Along with the support of Jian and Dragonland people, Bheem and his friends thwarts Zuhu's plans and rescues Kia, where they escapes by summoning the dragon from the dragonstone which was requested by Kin in order to save Ming. Kia reunites with Jian, where Bheem and his friends win the competition and also earn love and respect from the people in Dragonland.

Critical response

Pallabi Dey Purkayastha of ''The Times of India'' gave 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Despite the minor hiccups, ‘Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka’ largely works due to its strong emotional content. The film reiterates the fact that love and friendship should be based on the foundation of unconditional support and selflessness. Now that’s a worthy lesson for younger audiences for sure." Troy Ribeiro from ''News18'' gave 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Visually, the film is brilliantly mounted. Each frame is colourful and appealing and the voices of the ace cast are matched perfectly. The animation, along with the 3D effects, are spectacular with all characters faithfully created, appealing to look at and truly vivacious except for the wispy pink dragon which seems out of place in this cinematic universe."

Shubhra Gupta of ''The Indian Express'' gave 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "What struck me about its newest addition to the adventures of little Bheem is the surprisingly terrific quality of animation: except for a flash or two which harks back to the bad old days of clunckiness, this is world class." Raja Sen of ''Hindustan Times'' gave 2 out of 5 stars and wrote "The glossy new movie has barely an original bone in its well-animated body. It needed spirit, some vim, some animated flair."

Spin-off

A spin-off animated television series of the same name aired in 2020.
