History
The company was founded in 1993 by its current CEO Walter Oberhänsli. The company name is derived form an actual pharmacy called ''Zur Rose'' (German for ''to the rose'') in the village of
Steckborn. A large number of competitors in pharma logistics and online commerce were acquired over the years, including Ogera AG (2001), Helvepharm AG (2006), DocMorris (2012), Eurapon Pharmahandel GmbH (2017), Promofarma (2018), (2018) and (2019). The group also acquired two software companies; BlueCare AG (2015) and TeleClinic (2020), a
telemedicine provider.
