Zeynep Günay Tan has been described as "one of the most successful names of the young generation" in Turkey. She says that she likes working on projects that "have a story that is worth telling", because if she doesn't like the story "... directing the show turns into a civil service after a while. I'd never want that either." She describes her profession as a "dreamer"'s job and sees herself as a storyteller. Soysert, a cast member from ''Kayıp'', described Tan as "A legendary director in the industry. Someone who walks into the undiscovered areas of an actor's talents and reveals his hidden feelings, knows how to make the actor play his role. You feel safe and good when working with her."
