Yagub Mammadov was born on 5 May 1930 in
Aghjabadi District Aghjabadi District ( az, Ağcabədi rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the centre of the country and belongs to the Aran Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khojavend, Agdam, Barda, Zardab, B ...
. In 1956 he came to Baku for the Republican Youth Festival and became a laureate of the festival. Then he was invited to the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall. Yagub Mammadov had been working at the Philharmonic since 1958 and at the same time was studying in the class of
