William Clifford Hogg (January 31, 1875 September 12, 1940) was an American attorney, developer, civic activist, and philanthropist.

Early life

William Clifford Hogg was born on January 31, 1875, in Quitman, Texas, the eldest child of Sallie (Stinson) Hogg and James Stephen "Big Jim" Hogg. Jim joined the Texas bar not long after the birth of his first son. They purchased 1,200 acres of land, which included a fledgling country club.
