The name of the township is named after the Weixi River ().

As of 2015, the township is divided into 10 villages: Anfu (), Zhengchong (), Xinglong (), Fuxing (), Chashan (), Baisha (), Jingping (), Yinsha (), Changtian () and Xuehua ().
