Early history

Originally WIMA-FM was a simulcast of
WIMA (AM) WIMA (1150 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Lima, Ohio, owned and operated by which also operates FM sister stations WIMT, WLWD, WZRX-FM and WMLX from its studio and office location on West Market Street. Its transmitter is locate ...
until 1973 when FM programming became separate as "Country Lovin' WIMA-FM." At first the format was automated and in mono but switched to stereo and live personalities in 1979. It became known briefly as WIQA "Q-102" in 1981 but switched again one year later to the present call letters. T-102 was once home to the 9th ranked best on-air personality in the United States, Gordy Price (1949-2009). His style is still used on this station to this day.
