Career

Duncan returned to Australia in 1932 where he taught at the University of Sydney. Duncan joined the
University of Adelaide The University of Adelaide (informally Adelaide University) is a public research university located in Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 1874, it is the third-oldest university in Australia. The university's main campus is located on N ...
in 1951 as the chair of history and political science. Duncan retired in 1968, but in 1973 completed a previously unfinished commissioned centenary history of the University of Adelaide. In 1962, Duncan delivered the fourth in the annual series of
