First GenerationThe spelling of the surname varied with generation, between 'Vivero', 'Viveiro' and 'Bivero' according to individual taste and preference. This disparity was later formalised by decree, late in the reign of King Felipe II. The 'Bivero' spelling is generally considered to be the ancient spelling.
