''Ulospongiella'' is a genus of
sponge known only from the
Burgess Shale deposit. It contains only one species, ''Ulospongiella ancyla''.
The generic name is derived from the
Greek words ''oulus'' ("wooly" or "curly") and ''spongia'' ("sponge"), referring to the curled or curved
spicules
