The western branch widens at the "Rudi Bay" section, becoming about wide, wider than the average width of the fjord. After the junction it branches roughly southwards for about until the northern end of a shallow area named Revet.

The fjord is about wide at the entrance and the part that stretches to the northwest narrows to about all the way to its head.
