History

In the years 1975–1998, the town administratively belonged to the Radom Voivodeship. On January 1, 2003, the name of the village was changed from Stara Tymienica to Tymienica Stara. The faithful of the Roman Catholic Church belong to the parish of St. Tekla in Tymienieca.
