At least from the 12th-13th centuries, the settlements of Tsarist and Sour Water existed. The village was named Ttu jur from the famous Ttu jur spring near the settlement. The village was founded in the beginning of the 20th century as the Russian settlement of ''Lysogor'' (russian: Лысогор) in the
