Coaching career

Prior to his collegiate coaching career, Weaver co-founded the DC Assault of the
Amateur Athletic Union The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is an amateur sports organization based in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. It h ...
(AAU) in 1993. He served as the coach of DC Assault from 1993 to 1996, where he amassed an 85–17 record, and helped lead the team to the 1996 AAU Tournament of Champions. Weaver served as assistant coach for the
