Returning to Ouachita Baptist in 1970, Patterson averaged 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in 1970-1971 under Coach Vining. In 1971-1972, Patterson averaged 25.3 points and 14.7 rebounds as Ouachita Baptist advanced to the second round of the
