During Day's time at Arkansas, the Razorbacks made the NCAA Tournament every year, advancing to the second round in 1989, the Final Four in 1990, the Elite Eight in 1991, and the second round in 1992. He played for the US national team in the 1990 FIBA World Championship, winning the bronze medal.
