His breakthrough came after moving to Excelsior as a free agent in 2021, scoring an unprecedented 36 goals in 43 appearances in the 2021–22 Eerste Divisie season and subsequent playoffs, to help the club win promotion to the Eredivisie. A Dutch youth international, Dallinga has gained caps for both the Netherlands under-19 and Netherlands under-21 team.
