The Land is operated by the Association Of Voluntary Organisations In Wrexham (Avow) and it has been in operation since 2011, providing open access adventure play for children and young people from five to sixteen years old. The playground is staffed by between 6 and 12

The Land consists of a fenced, one acre play-area with a brook running through it, "piles of pallets, a tonne of tyres, the odd upside-down boat, wheelbarrows, ladders, fishing nets, various stray hammers ..., ropes and punch bags".
