. During her career as a lawyer, Tali Gottlieb has been in the headlines primarily for representing defendants accused of sex crimes. One case involved a 16-year-old girl whose attacker was convicted of rape and indecent acts committed when she was 14. Gottlieb represented the attacker. After the girl published a victorious post about her difficult and significant legal journey, Gottlieb responded with a social media post that criticized the girl and called her testimony "distorted." She also mocked the girl and quoted from the investigation materials and her court testimony, even after her client had already been convicted. The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel filed a complaint against Gottlieb with the Ethics Committee of the Israel Bar Association. The complaint stated that there was no need to elaborate on the harsh and crude damage caused by Gottlieb's actions, not only to the young complainant but also to the dignity of the legal profession and the public trust in those engaged in it. According to the complaint the victim was a minor, and despite a judicial decision recognizing the crime committed against her, she had to deal with defamation and slander from a professional and mature party, clearly unable to defend herself against such comments. However, the Israel Bar Association decided to shelve the complaint. In 2012, Gotlieb faced rejection during a course for judicial candidates, disqualified by the evaluation center for prospective judges based on the criteria of "judicial temperament.". In 2016, Gottlieb ran for the chairmanship of the
