Less that three months after the theater opened a portion of the movable auditorium ceiling collapsed resulting in two workmen being stranded on a steel beam above the 15 ton ceiling crushed 100 seats, however nobody was injured and the two workmen were able to make it to safety. The theater was closed for repairs for several months and reopened in 1973. For 34 years, the theater was the home of the
