Symphony No. 1 (''Low'') is a symphony by Philip Glass based on
David Bowie David Robert Jones (8 January 194710 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie ( ), was an English singer-songwriter and actor. A leading figure in the music industry, he is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the ...
's 1977 album '' Low''. In 1996 Glass based another symphony on David Bowie's following album '' "Heroes"'', and in 2018 he based his 12th Symphony on Bowie's album '' Lodger'', completing his trilogy of symphonies based on Bowie's '' Berlin Triptych''.
