Awards

Sparkes won the awards for Best Atlantic Canadian Director and Best Atlantic Screenwriting at AIFF. He was also the winner of the award for Best Atlantic Canadian Feature, albeit for his concurrent film '' The King Tide'' rather than ''Sweetland''.
