History

The village was established around 1550 as a hamlet of Lipnik and was first mentioned in 1564. The first inhabitants were Lutherans from Lipnik, named Hoffman and Protzner. In the 18th century the village began to be catholicized by Jesuits. Upon the First Partition of Poland in 1772, it became part of the
