History

The Star Bar was first launched in 1976. It was accompanied by a space-themed TV advert by Richard Williams Animation Studio, London with the tagline "...next time you're having an energy crisis". The bar was later promoted as "the munchiest bar ever". It was also promoted in the UK in the mid-1980s with a postal offer (3 wrappers plus P+P got you a Starbar Ruler, Pencil and a copy of
