. At the 2006 census, its population (as a part of the Central District) was 7,386 in 1,532 households. The following census in 2011 counted 15,457 people in 2,833 households. At the latest census in 2016, the district had 30,130 inhabitants living in 4,029 households. In 2017, Taheri Rural District and the city of Bandar Siraf were separated from the Central District to establish Siraf District.
