''Encyclopædia Iranica'', online edition, Retrieved 28 December 2018. From 1930 on and under the leadership of Saʿid Nafisi (1895 – 1966), a Persian scholar, writer and poet, a second volume with a total of 12 issues was released. The literary magazine published especially Persian literature and articles on Persian history and its neighboring countries. The editor wanted to introduce and familiarize the well-known Persian literature to a broad readership and to inform them about the latest recent books.Šarq, 1st issue, December 1930.
