Until the second half of the 20th century, Servion was primarily a farm village. Today, agriculture is only a minor occupation. Much additional employment has developed in sales and the service sector. In the commercial center that has developed on the Carrouge are found construction and transport firms, as well as electronics and precision instrument companies.
