assassinated in 1983. It brought barangays Buenaflores, Bugso, Kiadsam, Kadi, Kulaman, Malegdeg and Sewod from the municipality of

Bagumbayan to form the new municipality. The seat of government of the municipality is designated at Barangay Kulaman.
