Administrative center of the district is the town of Sardinal. Other villages in the district are Artola, Cacique, Coco, Guacamaya, Huaquitas, Libertad, Matapalo, Nancital, Nuevo Colón, Obandito, Ocotal, Pilas, Playa Hermosa, Playones, San Blas, Santa Rita and Zapotal.
