Professional wrestling career

Andrés Reyes made his professional wrestling debut in July 1973 as the '' enmascarado'' (masked) character Lemus. Less than a year after his debut, he was forced to remove his mask as he lost a '' Lucha de Apuesta'' (bet match) to

and had to remove the mask per Lucha Libre traditions. After wrestling under a mask for some years, he finally gained some notoriety as he began a feud with Fishman and
