Kiesel was born on January 15, 1980, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kiesel is a fifth generation Seminole County resident. He received a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in history from the

, graduating with honors. In 2006 he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the
