Rudná ( hu, Rozsnyórudna) is a village and municipality in the Rožňava District in the Košice Region of middle-eastern Slovakia.


History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1219. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Rudná was part of

within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1938 to 1945, it was again part of Hungary as a result of the First Vienna Award.


Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 350 metres and covers an area of 7.494 km2. It has a population of about 725 people.


Culture

The village has a public library and a football pitch.
