On 10 November 1815, a committee of publication was founded on the initiative of Adolf Ludvig Stierneld, Baron Stierneld, the famous nobleman and collector of historical documents. Its by-laws was passed in 1821 by Charles XIV John, King of Sweden and Norway. Some recent notable presidents include
Erik Lönnroth Erik Lönnroth (1 August 1910 in Gothenburg – 10 March 2002) was one of the most notable Swedish historians of the 20th century. He was a life member of the Swedish Academy from 1962 and member of various faculties.Herman Schück.
