Rost Township is a township in Jackson County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 250 at the 2000 census.


History

Rost Township was organized in 1874, and named for Frederick Rost, a pioneer settler.


Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93.5 km), all land.


Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 250 people, 91 households, and 75 families residing in the township. The population density was 2.7/km (6.9/mi). There were 98 housing units at an average density of 1.0/km (2.7/mi). The racial makeup of the township was 99.60% White, and 0.40% Native American. The median income for a household in the township was $43,056, and the median income for a family was $44,167. Males had a median income of $31,146 versus $23,750 for females.
