The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad ''Rockets'' were lightweight, streamlined diesel-electric passenger trains built by the

. Unlike many other early streamlined trains, the locomotives were not permanently attached to the trains. The trains were articulated except for the observation cars.
