. He designed the interiors of the homes of several of the directors of

Marks & Spencer Marks and Spencer Group plc (commonly abbreviated to M&S and colloquially known as Marks's or Marks & Sparks) is a major British multinational retailer with headquarters in Paddington, London that specialises in selling clothing, beauty, home ...

and subsequently joined the board of that company in 1934. He worked with J.M. Monro & Son to create a modular design scheme for the façades of over 40 Marks & Spencer stores. He also painted.
